March Run

The March run for the 12 runs in 12 months was the Shamrock Shuffle 8k!

I've never done it before, but had heard that it was a good race.....and it was! Tommy and I ran it with Megan, Jeff, and Alyssa. I was super excited that Tommy and I even kept up with the speedy Megan and Jeff for the first mile of the race. We started to peel off after we hit the first mile marker, and walked through the two water stations. The walking definitely helped, especially since the running I had done to train for the 8k the four weeks prior to the race were all on a treadmill.

The race also ended on that AWFUL hill in Chicago. The one by those creepy bronze leg statues that is at the end of EVERY STUPID CHICAGO RACE and hurts to run up. Then you turn the corner and cross the finish line.

Generally, it was a pretty good race. The goody bag from Mariano's was a nice touch too. I wish the shirts were green though....that would have been waaaaaay better!
